How I knew she was “The One”

2.) Common interest beyond the surface

Everyone says common interest is a necessity but not everyone goes past the surface. It’s easy to find someone who likes the same artist, the same food, the same cars etc. but it’s not easy to find someone who looks at the world the same way you do, who is passionate about similar things and who has the little things in common. When I met my fiancé the first thing I learned about her was that she’s a writer, not just a writer, but one who loves writing poetry like I do. She was also a vintage freak like me. Something about going to an old book store and smelling the books makes me happy and somehow one of the best dates I had with her was spending time at an old bookstore at the old market in Omaha. Our past is even similar, shared many similar experiences in life. There are many things we have in common on the surface but with her there were things that stood out and made her different than any other human being I’ve met.
